Operational meteorology concentrates on the physical side of meteorology.  Taking math and physics courses early in the student's college career is encouraged.  The Cal-U Weather Center is a lab environment where all meteorology students are able to apply what they learn in the classroom by forecasting for the Southwest PA region.  The forecasts issued by the Weather Center are available on the website and by calling the forecast hotline or the Weather Center. Forecasts are aired on WVCS Power 92, and CUTV Newscenter Live.
