California University of Pennsylvania and the Meteorology Club is proud to welcome Dr. Walker Ashley of Northern Illinois University on Friday, November 17, 2006, at 2 PM in EBE 110. Earning his Ph.D from the University of Georgia, Dr. Ashley will speak in front of the Southwest Pennsylvania Chapter of the AMS about derecho climatology and hazards as well as the hazards and geography of killer tornadoes and non-convective wind storms.  His research emphasis includes Meteorology, Climatology, Hazards, and GIS.
