Friday, September 21, 2007 - 2 PM - EBE 110 Bryan Hughes is the Chief Meteorologist for CBS 2. Bryan has been in Television and Radio Broadcasting for nearly 15 years and has spent the last 9 years in West Texas. His expertise is in Severe Weather Forecasting and Radar Interpretation. He was nominated by the National Weather Service for the 2005 Broadcaster of the Year for his Severe Weather Coverage during a 14-hour weather event which resulted in more than 50 warnings. The National Weather Service wrote of Bryan's severe weather coverage: "In particular, we would like to recognize the efforts of Bryan Hughes in delivering clear and consistent information when seconds count in these types of severe weather episodes ... The exchange of information throughout the event was incredible.” Bryan has a degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Telecommunications from Texas Tech University. The Atmospheric Sciences Department specializes in Wind Engineering and Tornado/Hurricane Storm Shelter development.
