Betsy Kling Comes to Cal U

On Tuesday, April 25, 2006, the Meteorology Club was proud to welcome Meteorologist Betsy Kling from WKYC-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, to speak to the members of the club about the field of Broadcast Meteorology.  Betsy besides being an on-air meteorologist is the coordinator for the 2006 NWA Conference that will be held in Cleveland this coming October.  While Betsy was here, Students Bryan Tolle, Johnathan Jennings, and Alyssa Gearing along with Advisor Dr. Chad Kauffman had the chance to meet with Betsy and discuss how the students of the Meteorology Club will help execute the NWA conference in October.  Betsy spoke to about 25-35 meteorology students about the different aspects of news media, and internships along with her own personal college experiences, after he speech. Betsy took time and gave critique to students as they presented their on-air forecasts in the broadcast studio.  It was a pleasure to have Betsy join us.
