Our Alumni Directory has recently been updated with our graduates from the Class of 2006.
If you are a recent or past graduate of the Meteorology or Earth Sciences program and wish to be listed below with brief biographical data, please contact Dr. Chad Kauffman (kauffman@cup.edu). He will pass along your information to our local alumni coordinator.
The Department of Earth Sciences, the faculty, and the Meteorology program have recently established a Meteorology Scholarship for seniors majoring in Earth Sciences-Meteorology at California University. The first merit-based scholarship award will be named for the 2006-2007 academic year after a formal application process. The scholarship will be awarded to a dedicated, scholarly student who has demonstrated the ability to succeed in the Atmospheric Sciences upon matriculation. This philanthropic endeavor is designed to provide our students with as many tools as possible to succeed in our chosen discipline. We also hope to foster a greater sense of connection with our alumni through this process.
Former Chapter President Kevin Colaizzi ('05) comments on the establishment of this scholarship:
"'Paying it forward' is a really great way to sum up the pursuit and implementation of this scholarship. I personally enjoyed four great years as a Meteorology club member and officer. This scholarship will add an additional incentive to advance the recruitment of new students and also reward the excellent students of the program."
If you have questions about this scholarship or about how to contribute to this new philanthropic endeavor, please contact: Amy Lombard 724-938-1540 (lombard@cup.edu)
