Location
California University’s 92-acre campus is nestled on a bend of the Monongahela River in the town of California, PA just 35 miles south of Pittsburgh. Less than a one hour drive from Pittsburgh International Airport, Cal U is conveniently located off I-70 at Exit 37, and less than 30 minutes from the intersection of I-70 and 79.
Thanks to Route 43, California is just minutes away from Route 51 and
the Allegheny County and Pittsburgh City limits.
The City
of Pittsburgh offers visitors everything from the
Carnegie Museum of Art and the Carnegie
Museum of Natural History to Phipps
Conservatory to charming
neighborhoods bustling with restaurants
and unique
shopping venues.
The campus is near a number of historic
locations and famous
destinations such as Fallingwater
and Kentuck
Knob, two of architect Frank
Lloyd Wright’s masterpieces.
Whitewater
rafting, canoeing, camping, hiking
and biking
are just a few of the many outdoor activities that are less than one
hour’s drive from the Cal U campus.
Antiquing is a favorite activity in southwestern
Pennsylvania, and for good reason. Shops
tucked beside local highways and byways offer bargains to adventuresome
hunters every day.
