HERRON RECREATION & FITNESS CENTER
This state of the art facility will satisfy many of the university community needs and requests. The facility will house larger cardiovascular and free weight areas, group fitness studio, two gymnasiums, 33’climbing wall, 1/16 mile walking/running track, two racquetball courts and wet area with a lap pool, steam sauna and whirlpool. There will also be a food court adjacent to the facility.
- Herron Recreation and Fitness Center is undergoing a 10 million dollar renovation and addition.
- Completion of this state of the art facility will be September 26, 2009.
Weight Areas are divided into two areas side by side providing over 3000 pounds of free weight with olympic racks, platforms, benches and free weight accessories also 30 selectorzed machines.
Group Fitness Studio will be scheduled for group fitness and aerobic class.
Gymnasiums one with a multipurpose floor and one with a wooden floor to accommodate basketball, volleyball, badminton, pickle ball, deck hockey, indoor soccer and group fitness classes.
Climbing Wall a 33’ obelisk for free climbing and belaying.
Track 1/16 of a mile with a three lane rubberized surface overlooking the gymnasium, cardio room and climbing wall with a view of the campus.
Racquetball Courts utilized for racquetball and wallyball matches.
Wet Area will have a 4 lane lap pool, whirlpool and a steam sauna.
MEMBERSHIP FEES
Fitness programming provides opportunities and assistance to participants who wish to be involved in a personal exercise program. This voluntary program is designed to motivate individuals, assess their level of fitness, and influence their decision to maintain a positive fitness lifestyle.
Group Fitness/Aerobics Classes
Ballet Fit, Sculpt Upper Body, Fit Ball, Toning, Abs, Interval, Pilates, Stretch and Relax, Step, Light Latin, Boot Camp and Zumba
