Pictures are up...finally.
Meetings are going to be Wednesdays this semester it
looks like. Everyone
I have talked to said it's good with an exception of one or so. Unfortunately
the funding won't be coming through until the end of the year. Quite
a disappointment. I was looking forward to it this semester. Not much
else is new. Happy Scrabbling.

The pictures I took at the club's meeting two weeks ago will be up by tomorrow. I promise. New
dictionaries are out! I'm holding off on buying them though so that I can purchase the updated OWLs
instead of the OSPD 4.
The OWLs are
expected to ship mid-January so hopefully they will be in not long after the semester starts. If you're interested, which you
should be, here's the updated words list.

I know I haven't updated in such a long time and hopefully I will get around to doing this more often.
As for news in the club, we've been having record attendance consistently on Wednesday nights. 12 people this last week
and 11 the week before that. Thanks for coming out and showing your support guys! Member photos are going to be taken
soon so we can add some more content to this thing. Also, it should be noted I bought the domain
ScrabbleClub.net! Now we have a web address you can actually remember.

So, the message board thing will never happen. However, I am looking into blog-type scripts so that,
if anyone would wish to, comments can be posted upon the news listings. Flyers are going to be posted today for the
club's first meetings that will happen this Tuesday and Wednesday. Twice a week now as long as people show up. And
I figured that if someone has a night class Tuesday they could come Wednesday instead. Meetings 6-9, 2nd floor manderino.
Check the flyers

Be on the look out for Scrabble Club's message board! It should have been in place since day one,
however I just never got around to it. Now, as soon as I gain permissions for it it will be up! If you are reading this you
should post on the board and meet other players.

I just replaced the images with backgrounds to match the site. Should work across all browsers now.
Been playing a lot of scrabble lately because my summer job has not started yet. I'm hoping that some of you out there
are playing often as well. I want some competition at Cal next year. Well, we will see. Enjoy the summer.

The MySQL is back up and running. However, I have been noticing that on IE some of my pictures are not
displaying correctly. My guess is it is because my images are .png. I hope to fix this as well. Happy Scrabbling.

9:14 a.m. Apparently we are having some difficulty with the Tools page right
now. The MySQL server has went down. I'll update as soon as I receive word that the database is back up and running.

Tomorrow is the big day. Mike and I will be heading over to Uniontown for the East End Community Center
trip. Finals week came seven days early for me. So, I have been very busy with school work for the past few days. It
will be nice next week when I have nothing to do though. Summer is coming up soon, and everyone should try improving
their game during the time off. If you're a novice, try and commit all the
two letter words to memory. If you have already got those down, great! Step it up and learn the
Q without U words and try tackling the
three letter words. That should be a handful for the summer, and if you
know all these things already, you can be the new Scrabble President ;-). Inquire within.

Some members will be travelling up to the East End Community Center this Friday. They will be teaching
some of the children of Uniontown how to play Scrabble. Not enough teeachers realize how powerful of a reading tool that
Scrabble can be. There are not a lot of ways to make spelling fun and Scrabble is the exception. Spread the word.

Yesterday I found out that some teachers from middle schools from around the area get together to have a Scrabble
Tournament in the performance center. Apparently it has been going on for 25 years now! Congratulations to them. I exchanged
email addresses and am looking forward to collaborating with them next year early on and helping them out with their tournament
as well. It's great to see young kids so enthused about spelling and the game.

Well, in general news. Cal U Scrabble Club made the links
page on ISC.ro ! You can
view their site as well on our Links page. The end of the year is approaching soon
and I am looking forward to a better year for the Scrabble Club. First year starting is always hard.

Dictionary and hook finder fully functional on the Tools page.
Check it out!
