Jamison is a recent graduate of California University of PA, and has recently been hired as the Director of Sports Clubs. Jamison has been overseeing all off-ice operations for the team since the 2002-03 season. Jamison, a native of Erie, PA, played four years for McDowell High School. Jamison is not only a former player (2002/03-2006/07) for the CHE team, but he also handles most off ice operations for the team including all scheduling and financial activities. Under Jamison’s tenure as President (2002/03-2005/06) of the Cal Hockey Club, the club has been revamped and is looking like a strong contender in the CHE for years to come. Ryan Jones, Hockey Club President |
Ryan graduated from Penn Hills High School and now resides in Donegal PA. 2009-2010 marks Ryan’s fourth season playing for Cal U. Ryan is currently active in Student government and student cabinet. When he is not playing ice hockey he plays dekhockey, exercises, and hangs out with family and friends. Ryan recently completed an internship with the Pittsburgh Penguins and is majoring in Sports Management. |
Jeremy Hill, Hockey Club Vice President |
Jeremy is originally from Brunswick, OH but now resides in Mars, PA. This season is his fourth season playing hockey for Cal U. Off the ice, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family and friends as well as playing and coaching hockey, playing ping pong, exercising, and golfing. He has high aspirations for the 2009-2010 season and looks forward to upholding the title of Vice President of the Hockey Club and doing everything that he can to help the club. Jeremy is a Sports Management major. |

Bill, a native of Exton PA, is currently a senior at California University of PA. Bill has been with the club for the past three years. Bill is a Business Administration major with a main concentration in Marketing. This is Bill's second season as Secretary of the club. He is looking forward to working one on one with both all the other officers to make this a great year and to really get to know all the workings of the club. |

Brenda DePaoli is the Executive Staff Assistant in the Office of Student Development and Services at California University of PA, and is in her fifth year as advisor to the Hockey Club. Brenda has been following Cal Hockey since her brother played goaltender back in the late 1980’s. Brenda began her recent involvement with Cal Hockey beginning in 2004 when she served as one of the coordinators of the ACHA National Tournament, which Cal U hosted. In addition to being an avid hockey fan, Brenda’s hockey experience comes from years of watching her daughter Brandie play for the Mon Valley Thunder girl’s team and her son William ‘BJ’ who played for Serra Catholic High School, Detroit Honeybaked and the AAA Pittsburgh Hornets. BJ played on the CHE (Cal I) team for five seasons. |

Coach Berger, a native of Jefferson Hills, PA returns to California University of PA for his sixth full season with the team and his fifth as head coach. Coach Berger has an extensive hockey background as both a player and coach. He has competed both at the Junior Level as well as in the ACHA Division I. Coach Berger also served as the Head Coach for clubs such as; Chartiers Valley Junior Varsity, Eastern Amateurs Midgets, and Mt. Lebanon Hornets Midget hockey programs. Justin looks forward to leading the California hockey program back to the ACHA DIII National Tournament. He will also be looking to lead the Vulcans to their fourth straight CHE Championship. Coach Battista will be moving up to become the CHE Team’s Associate Head Coach after 3 seasons of being the Head Coach of CHA. Coach Battista has built the CHA program into a top league contender over the past three seasons. Coach Battista is a level 5 USA Hockey Master Certified hockey coach who has been coaching in the Pittsburgh area for 14 years. He has coached from mites to midgets at the amateur level and has been a head coach at freshman through varsity at the high school level. He has also served at the Penn State hockey camps for the last 10 years including the USA hockey camp as a coach and counselor. |
Patrick Kenny, CHE Assistant Coach & Goaltending Coach |
Coach Kenny, a native of Overbrook, enters his fouth season at California University of PA hockey staff as a Goaltending Consultant and an Assistant Coach on the CHE team. Coach Kenny’s coaching background includes Seaton La Salle, The University of Pittsburgh, and Head Coach at Puckmasters, a one-on-one training center. Pat, has played goaltender for over 17 years and competed at many levels including the starting goaltender for his entire career at the University of Pittsburgh. During his time at the University of Pittsburgh Pat won numerous awards including being named the team MVP twice. After graduating Coach Kenny’s number 1, was retired and is the only player in the University of Pittsburgh hockey teams 30 year history to receive this honor. |
Jeff Moyer, CHE Assistant Coach |
Jeff was born and raised in Bentleyville, Pa. He is a recent graduate of Cal U with a B.S. in Sport Management. He played for Cal from 2002-07 and also served as Vice President of the team for 2+ years and Alternate Captain. He also has background and playing experience in Junior hockey. This will be his first season working with the CHE team. He had coached under Coach Battista for the last two seasons as CHA Assistant Coach. |
Matt Ward, CHA Assistan Head Coach |
Matt is a native of Greensburg, PA. He attended Greensburg Central Catholic High School from 1999-2003. He continued his education as well as his hockey career at Saint Vincent College where he graduated in 2007 with a bachelors degree in Communication studies. Upon graduation Matt enrolled in Cal's Sports Management Graduate program and played one season on Cal's CHE team where he was lucky enough to be a member of the 2007-2008 National Championship team. This is Matt's second year as a coach. |
Brandon Patterson, CHA Assistant Head Coach |
Brandon is from Belle Vernon, PA. He played for California for three seasons on the CHE team, and was apart of the 2008 ACHA Division III National Championship team. Brandon is currently majoring in Sports Management and is a senior at California University of PA. Brandon will be entering his second season as CHA Assistant Coach. |
Dave Yanko, Women's Head Coach |
Dave Yanko, a native of Ambridge, PA now resides in Pittsburgh, PA, played for Cal U Hockey from 2002 - 2005. Yanko is entering his 7th year of coaching and his 3rd season with the Cal coaching staff. His first year was spent as assistant coach of the CHA team and 2nd year with the new women’s team as head coach. He as played at the Junior level, ACHA Division III, and has served as coach for Ambridge and Hempfield high schools. Yanko is looking to build the women’s team into a top contender in the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference (DVCHC). Yanko led the Women's Team to the DVCHC Division II Conference Championship in his first season and will look to build on his success in his second year. |
Sean Rogan, Recruiting Director |
Sean Rogan is from Shaler Township and has been an avid hockey fan and player for many years. Sean attended Central Catholic High School and played hockey there for three years. He graduated from Penn State University in 2004 with a B.S. in Management Science and Information Systems with minors in Japanese language and Business Law. He recently completed his M.B.A. at the University of Pittsburgh. The 2009-2010 season will be Sean's third with the team. Derrick Fluhme, M.D., Team Doctor |
Derrick J. Fluhme, M.D. attended the University of Notre Dame and Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his Intership and Orthopedic Surgical Residency at the University of Pittsburgh under the Chairmanship of Freddie H. Fu, M.D. He recieved Sports Medicine Fellowship trianing at the internationally renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA where he served as a fellow Team Physician for the Dodgers, Lakers, Sparks, and Kings. He now specializes in sports medicine, primarily involving arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. |
