The P.E.A.C.E. Project
(Prevention, Education, Advocacy, for Change and Empowerment)
The P.E.A.C.E. Project received a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women. Proactively, prevention education classes are conducted to raise awareness on the issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking. Reactively, advocates provides support and resources for victims and/or their loved ones.
Mission Statement
The P.E.A.C.E. Project is committed to raising awareness about sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking on campus and in the community. To this end, The P.E.A.C.E. Project:
- Promotes a positive environment of respect and growth.
- Offers all students and employees the resources for prevention and education on the issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking.
- Works to serve the needs of women and men of all races, ethnicities, religions, classes, ages and sexual orientations.
- Offers survivors and secondary victims support, advocacy, counseling and referrals.
- Works assertively toward a campus and community that is safe from sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking.
- Facilitates collaboration and communication among campus groups and community resources that are concerned about ending sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking.
Student Success™ Sexual Assault Prevention and Alcohol Abuse Prevention and the Cal U/New Media™ Preventing Sexual Harassment online education programs.
Program Instructions: You are required to complete all three programs between July 1 - August 27, 2009.
Preventing Sexual Harassment:
Step 1: Log on at: www.newmedialearning.com/psh/cup/index.htm
Step 2: Click on the blue arrow marked “Continue.”
Step 3: Choose the first edition, “Employees and Current Students.”
Step 4: Click on “Student”
Step 5: Move through the program by clicking the blue arrows marked “Continue.”
Be advised that you must start and finish the program in one sitting, it cannot be saved. Average completion time one hour. Enter your name at the end of the program to receive credit. Print out the certificate for your own records.
Sexual Assault Prevention
Step 1: Log on at: https://www.studentsuccess.org/cup09/sexualassault/
Step 2: Under “First Time User” enter the following School Access Code: 9027782
Step 3: Follow the instructions. You will be asked to input an email address and password. Record this information. It will allow you to re-enter the program as a returning student and complete it in several sittings. You will retain access to the program throughout the school year for reference purposes and receive follow-up contacts from Student Success™ highlighting key program information.
Alcohol Abuse Prevention
Step 1: Log on to https://www.studentsuccess.org/cup09/alcohol/
Step 2: Under “First Time User” enter the following School Access Code: 9022782
Step 3: Same as Step 3 above.
