The Black Student Union


The Black Student Union is a student organization devoted to promoting unity amoung students of all races; recognizing and meeting the special needs of students on cmups and acquainting the university community with these needs: providing a atmosphere that is conductive to learning, academics, social and cultural growth, and promoting awareness of the history and culture of African American people. Events include:

The International Club promotes international understandig and is open to all students. The activities of the club are determined by the members and it is an organization through which you can become acquainted with the international students and other American students. The CAL Rainbow Alliance

The CAL Rainbow Alliance is an organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered students, as well as other friends in the campus community. The CAL Rainbow Alligance promotes visibility, safety, and understanding, providing a voice for sexual mnorities in university affairs. The members share activies, which may include social service, educational, and political events. The Safe Zone

The Safe Zone is a Cal U resource service for anyone. Cal U empolyees who display the Safe Zone emblem welcome students and other employees who want to talk with someone about their sexual identiy. Whatever your concerns, Safe Zone members are ready to listen and answer basic questions. They have agreed to hold what you tell them in confidence unless that would be immediatley harmful to you or others. The Women's Center

The Women's Center offers boos and a video library, games, TV/VCR/DVD, a meeting place for clubs and organizations, soda & snacks for twenty-five cents and special events, all in a casual atmosphere. Men and women are welcome! Stop by the Women's Center located in Suite 175 of the Natali Student Center (next to the radio station).

The Hispanic Student Association

The Hispanic Student Association offers support, cultural activities, and a sense of community to all students with an interest in Hispanic culture. Its varied activites include attending plays, concernts, and an annual conferece. It also sponsors the very popular bi-annual Latin dance. Everyone is welcome. Men of Integrity

Men of Integrity meet for fellowship, teaching, worship, and prayer. The group discusses different topics using the Bible, video, and audio tapes as resources. Men of Integrity is devoted to inspiring men of color to be positive role models for each other. Meetings are Wednesday's at 8:15 PM in the Jennie Carter House. Expressions

Expressions' mission is to cultivate and strengthen bons of sisterhood. Through their monthly discussion groups and activities, members strive to promote unity and break down the barrier amoung women.
