The handbook includes the Student Code of Conduct, the Drug and Alcohol Policy and other important and useful information for students. This handbook is updated annually.
Part of operating a university is the development of an appropriate environment, which fosters individual learning and growth. The President of California University has delegated this responsibility to the University Judicial Officer who heads the Office of Judicial Affairs within the Division of Student Development and Services. The purpose of the student code of conduct and its enforcement focuses on the development of an environment based on the university’s core values of integrity, civility and responsibility in an attempt to foster students’ academic, social and personal growth and development. The code of conduct outlines behavioral expectations of students while on and off campus. Hearing officers are charged with investigating complaints of possible violations of the code of conduct, informing students of their rights and responsibilities and either adjudicating the violation informally or referring it to a formal hearing with one of the university’s judicial boards.
