Frequently Asked Questions

1. Consider Used Textbooks

Another advantage to shopping early is you will have first pick of our selection of used books. Used books usually sell out very quickly within the first few days of school. You will save approximately 25% over the cost of a new textbook when you purchase used books. Used books may not be available for every class.

2. How Do I Find My Books?

We have an excellent staff who are here to help you with any questions or problems you may have. We will assist you in locating all the required and supplemental books and supplies you will need.
All textbooks are arranged by course in alphabetical order, and then in numerical order (e.g. ACC 123-01, ACC 316-01, then BIO, etc.). The last two digits of the course number are the section number. The section number is very important because different faculty teach different sections. Each professor may not require the same books. Therefore, it is imperative that you know which section you are enrolled in to ensure that you are purchasing the correct book.

3. Required or Recommended?

Each book will have a course card on the shelf. This card will have all the information you will need. It contains which course number and section, the professor's name, and if that book is either required or recommended.

4. How Many Books?

Each course card will consist of ______ of ______ required (1 of 1 required, 1 of 3 required, 2 of 3 required, 3 of 3 required, etc.). The cards also list the optional recommended books the same way.

5. Do I Need to Bring Anything?

Please bring your schedule. When you register for your courses, you will receive a printout of hte course numbers and sections. Bring this schedule with you to be certain you are purchasing the correct books. Remember, certain sections of the same class may use different books.

6. Get Your Textbooks On Line

You can also get your textbooks on line at: www.calupa.bkstr.com. At this site you can order both new and used textbooks any time. Please carefully consider the "Do Not Substitute" option since the use of this holds up your order or may make it impossible to fully complete your order.
