May 8, 2008 Kutztown, Pa.-- Deanna Valentino (Oakdale, Pa./ West Allegheny) led the barrage with a perfect three for three day at the plate for the Vulcans, as California (27-16) handed West Chester a 7-0 opening round loss and will face Lock Haven in the second round of NCAA regional action.

Rager and Malay lead Track and Field heading to final day of PSAC Track and Field Championships
May 8, 2008 Indiana, Pa.-- After the Friday's competition finished, California Track and Field is not ranked on the men's side and ranked last on the women's but only 12 events total have been scored and the Vulcans look poised to strike on the final day of competition.

Tennis
In a 2-0 week that gave the Vulcans their fourth-straight undefeated PSAC season+ VanEysendeyk lost only six games combined for both singles and doubles. Against Clarion+ the sophomore won her singles match 6-0+ 6-0 before combining with Inga Chilingaryan for an 8-0 doubles win. Against Slippery Rock paired with Chilingaryan for an 8-0 doubles win while posting a 6-1+ 6-3 victory in singles play.

Andrew Rafalski
Baseball
Pitching a complete game (9 innings) Rafalski allowed only one run and struck out six as California defeated Ohio Valley 3-1. During the nine inning game he scattered four hits+ walking only one of thirty batters he faced. Then+ three days later returned to action to pick up the three inning win over Clarion in a 13-7 win. In the game against Clarion he allowed only five hits and struck out one. For the week+ Rafalski went 2-0+ pitched 12 innings+ allowing only nine hits+ while striking out seven and a 3.00 ERA for the 7-0 Vulcan week.
