Times have changed. Students have changed.
Now, Living@Cal U is a whole new experience. Cal U is transforming what used to be called "dorm" life into "The Suite Life". The vision calls for on- and off-campus living options that meet a diverse array of your needs as a student in the 21st century.

The vision has become a reality.
New on-campus residence halls have replaced all traditional residence halls, most of which were approaching their 50th birthdays. The move-in date for the first three halls, including the Honors Hall, was fall 2004.Two more building opened in fall 2006 and the final building opened in fall 2007!

Cal U is already recognized as a leader in providing premiere student living options through Vulcan Village — Cal U’s off-campus university housing. These state-of-the-art student apartments demonstrate how Cal U offers all amenities that students told us they want in an independent living setting.

For Cal U's new residence halls, we asked students what housing options would make the overall on-campus living experience even more fulfilling. Our goal was to create high-quality living space options in the center of campus, to help you develop both personally and academically.

 Room configurations
On or off-campus, Cal U offers suites as the ideal accommodation for today’s students. The Suite Life means that you’ll live in flexible units that are larger and more spacious than the average “dorm” room, with many of the amenities found in full-scale apartments. Most suites have a completely furnished common living-room area so you will feel right at home.

You can request specific living arrangements, based on individual lifestyle preferences. A variety of room configurations allows you to choose from one to three roommates or suitemates. No student will share a bathroom with more than three other residents and many students will share a bathroom with only one other student. Other configurations are available.
