There's
a lot
you can
do with
the CalCard.
You can
shop at
the Cal
U Bookstore,
buy a cold
drink from
a vending
machine,
or use it
to dine
on a meal
plan. Perhaps
you just
want a little
something
to munch
on? The
CalCard
is both
a campus
identification
card and
a convenient,
easy, and
safe way
to make
purchases
and use
services
on campus.
What
else?
Well it's
a library
card, a
laundry
card, and
a copy card
- all in
one.
How
does it
work?
The CalCard
works like
a debit
card. It
is even
better than
a credit
card, because
you deposit
money in
your account
in advance
so you don't
have to
worry about
paying the
bill at
the end
of the month.
Interest
and financial
charges
are eliminated.
It's better
than a checking
account
because
you don't
have to
carry your
checkbook,
replace
your checks,
or carry
several
forms of
identification
for check
approval.
CalCard
also is
used for
library
services.
When will
I receive
my card?
At the beginning
of the semester,
after having
your photograph
taken, you
will receive
your new
CalCard.
The CalCard
is valid
throughout
your length
of stay
at California
University
of Pennsylvania.
The cost
is $5.00.
How
easy is
it?
The
new CalCard
comes ready
to use,
preprogrammed
with basic
services,
and enhanced
by you based
on your
needs.
Who
is eligible?
The
CalCard
is available
to all California
University
of Pennsylvania
students,
faculty,
staff and
eligible
guests.
I
lost my
card...
what do
I do now?
If it is
during regular
business
hours, go
to the CalCard
Office at
the Information
Center.
If you discover
you lost
it after
hours or
on the weekend,
you should
go to Public
Safety to
report your
card missing
or stolen
and receive
a temporary
card.
Misplaced
or forgot
CalCard...
can I still
use it?
Get a Temporary
Card for
$3.00. You
can use
it for up
to three
days. All
your DINE,
SHOP and
MEALS will
transfer
from your
CalCard
to your
Temporary
Card. Please
note, Temporary
Card must
be returned.
What
carries
over...
from one
semester
to the next?
SHOP dollars
carry over
as long
as you are
enrolled
in school
at Cal U.
You can
only get
a refund
on SHOP
dollars
if you withdrawal
from school,
in which
case the
CalCard
Office must
receive
written
notice from
the student
and verification
of complete
withdrawal.
DINE dollars
only carry
over from
fall to
spring semesters.
